Hi Lobina Lure fans,
How about a few fishing reports from Central Arizona. The weather has been perfect and the fishing has been getting better here in AZ.
Lake Pleasant- Been fishing Pleasant quite a bit towards the end of November. All the fish have been moving to the creeks and coves. Shad type baits [ swimbaits, crankbaits, and spoons] have been the best baits. The Agua Fria River will be the best area till it closes December 15th, the late afternoon has been the most productive time. The other good areas will be Humbug and Castle creek. Pay attention to the depth of the shad, and use lures that cover those depths. My favorite baits for lake Pleasant are, 1oz. crippled herring spoons, Norman D14 crankbaits in smokey joe, 1/2oz Yamamoto jigs in brown or green pumpkin, 4″ Roboworms to dropshot with 1/4oz Kangii sinkers.
Bartlett Lake- One of the better AZ lakes, especially if you like to fish shallow! The water is low and off-colored so most of the action is happening 15′ and less. A shallow running crankbait is always effective on Bartlett, as is a bone colored Rico, especially late in the afternoons. Pitching a tube or light Yamamoto jig Very shallow has been producing the bigger bass. The hottest bait on Bartlett has been the Chatterbait, in white or chartruese, just slow roll these along the steeper banks. A Roboworm either dropshotted or rigged wacky, will catch the best numbers of bass.
Roosevelt Lake- This is the best of the AZ lakes. The lake filled up this year for the first time, and the amount of flooded brush is intimidating. You cannot go wrong this time of year with a spinnerbait. head up either river to the flooded brush and cover as much water as possible. The bass are grouped up and when you catch one, there will be more in the area. I use an old Tequila Spin spinnerbait with two willowleaf blades and slowroll it thru the brush. The other great bite is happening deep. Again a spoon or dropshot will catch many bass. Key on inside creek channels anywhere from 15 to 50′ deep.
Those are a few of my favorite places, if you want to experience any AZ lake, I am guiding again and can be reached thru The Hook-Up guide service at Lake Pleasant.

Just got back from a trip to Roosevelt Lake, AZ. The lake has risen over 5 feet, and each end is chocolate milk! The main body around Windy Hill and Rabbit Island is still looking good. The bass I caught are still fairly deep (15-50ft) deep, but the spoon bite has slowed and the 1oz Yamamoto jig bits has turned on. Stick with green hues and drag slowly. I have been keying on inside points and cuts. The afternoon hours are the best. Many different patterns could work, as the bass are very spread out thru the water column. The fishing will only get better, so nows the time to get out there!

I like that :), (at least the bits I could make out easily). I suffer from color blindness (protanopia to be exact). I use Safari browser (not sure if that matters), and a lot of your site is hard for me to read. I know that it is not your problem really, however it would be kind if you could take into account the color blind whilst undertaking the next web page redesign.

I think this is a great post. One thing that I find the most helpful is number five. Sometimes when I write, I just let the flow of the words and information come out so much that I loose the purpose. It’s only after editing when I realize what I’ve done. There’s defiantly a lot of great tips here I’m going to try to be more aware of.

I have PowerPro “green” on 6 reels (conventional and spinning) and I’ve never had a problem with it. There are/were some bad/fake spools of power pro sold on ebay and many people reported premature breaking. It’s been a very good braid to me and I will keep using it as long as it continues to perform. I just bought 300 yds of 15lb test green PP for my 4000D Baitrunner spinner. That said, I also use Diawa Boat Braid, Spiderwire and Fire Line and I have been happy with all of them w/the Boat Braid being my favorite for jigging applications.

I seem to be having a hard time , subscribing to your RSS feed. It comes up with error 451. Let me know if its a known error or if its just me . Ive tried opera and firefox. Great blog you have here but i seem to be having a problem subscribing to your RSS feed. Everytime i click it it comes up with error 824. It might be my own Mobile. I have Linux with kaspersky AntiVirus. Im not sure if its enabled. Let me know if anyone else has mentioned any Problems or its just me. Im not too good with PCs.
